RAPID CITY, S.D. - An 18-year-old man died Saturday evening after a two-vehicle crash occurred four miles south of Rapid City on Upper Spring Creek Road and Arena Drive, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported.

Officials report that the 18-year-old driver of a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Upper Spring Creek Road when he struck the rear passenger side of a 2022 Honda Ridgeline making a left turn onto Arena Drive.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a nearby hospital and later died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

The 89-year-old driver of the pickup had no injuries.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and names of persons involved in the crash have not been released pending notification of family members.
